Warmer Homes Scotland Funding and Support
Struggling to keep your home warm? Warmer Homes Scotland supports eligible households with improvements to heating and insulation.
It is worth checking this route before committing to a privately funded installation. Eligible households may receive improvements worth £10,000 or more. The support is tailored to the assessed work, rather than a fixed payment to spend with an installer of your choice.

Who May Qualify
The programme is open to eligible homeowners and private tenants in Scotland. Eligibility is assessed against both property conditions and household criteria.
Property Conditions
Your property must usually meet all of the following:
- Poor energy rating confirmed through assessment
- Floor area no greater than 230 m²
- Council tax band A to G
- Occupied as the main home for at least six months, with some exceptions
Household Criteria
At least one of the following must apply to your household:
- You receive qualifying benefits
- A person in the household is aged 75 or over with no working heating system
- A terminal-illness certification route applies
Home Energy Scotland can check the full current criteria with you when you call. Criteria are confirmed by the scheme provider, not by Renew-able Solutions.
What Improvements May Be Offered
The work offered depends on the property assessment carried out by Warmworks.
Depending on the assessment, improvements may include:
- Insulation and draught-proofing
- Heating system upgrades
- Renewable technologies
Most approved installations are fully funded, although a contribution may be needed in some cases. The scheme cannot fund work that has already been completed. Do not commission any improvements before your application has been assessed and confirmed.
How to Apply
The application is managed through Home Energy Scotland and delivered by Warmworks. Renew-able Solutions is not part of the Warmer Homes Scotland delivery network.
