Commercial Solar Panel Installation in Edinburgh and Scotland
Renew-Able Solutions designs and installs commercial solar PV and battery systems for suitable businesses, farms, offices, workshops, warehouses and other organisations across Edinburgh, East Lothian and Scotland. Every project is assessed individually for electricity use, roof or land suitability, structure, electrical infrastructure, planning, grid connection, access and budget. Generation, savings, export income and payback depend on the final design and operating conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Our Partners

Commercial Solar PV Design and Installation
We provide project-specific support from initial energy review and site assessment through system design, grid applications, quotation, installation, commissioning and handover. The required surveys, permissions, structural checks and specialist input depend on the building, project scale and proposed equipment.
Commercial Solar and Energy-System Options
The appropriate solution depends on the site, load profile, available space, electrical supply, export capacity and business objectives. We confirm the scope, assumptions and responsibilities before installation.
Commercial Rooftop Solar PV
We design rooftop systems for suitable offices, workshops, warehouses, farms, schools and other commercial buildings. Roof condition, structure, access, fire strategy, shading, electrical infrastructure and planning constraints must be assessed.
Ground-Mounted and Larger-Site Solar
Ground-mounted solar may be considered where suitable land, access, planning, grid capacity and project economics allow. Larger projects can require specialist surveys, civil works, planning advice and grid studies beyond a standard rooftop installation.
Solar PV with Battery and Energy Controls
Battery storage, export limitation, monitoring, EV charging and other energy controls can be considered where compatible with the site and business load profile. Backup operation requires specific design and is not included automatically.
Site-Specific Design
System size and layout are based on the site, electricity use, constraints and agreed objectives.
Grid and Export Review
DNO applications, export limits and connection requirements are considered for the proposed system.
Structural and Electrical Assessment
Surveys and specialist checks depend on the roof, building, supply and project scale.
Scotland
Commercial project coverage depends on location, scale, access and the required design work.
Our Commercial Solar Project Process
Step 1 - Energy Review and Site Assessment
We review electricity consumption, operating hours, supply information, available roof or land area, existing equipment and project goals. Site, structural, access and electrical surveys are agreed as required.
Step 2 - System Design, Grid Review and Proposal
We develop a project-specific design and consider expected generation, self-consumption, export, equipment, structural requirements, DNO applications and relevant permissions. Estimates are presented with assumptions and are not guarantees.
Step 3 - Installation, Commissioning and Handover
Installation proceeds after the agreed design, permissions, grid requirements, programme and site responsibilities are in place. The system is tested, commissioned and handed over with the relevant operating information and project documentation.
Discuss a Commercial Solar Project
Tell us the site postcode, business type, electricity use, supply details, available roof or land area, operating hours and project goals. We will review the initial information and explain the appropriate next survey or design stage.
Why Choose Renew-Able Solutions for Commercial Solar?
Relevant Renewable and Electrical Accreditations
Renew-Able Solutions holds relevant company accreditations for its solar PV and electrical work. The standards and certification route required depend on the system size, connection and project scope.
Evidence-Based Financial Modelling
Where sufficient information is available, we can present estimated generation, self-consumption and savings using stated assumptions. Tax, finance, grant and accounting treatment should be confirmed with the relevant professional advisers.
Product Warranties and Project Support
Manufacturer and workmanship warranties vary by equipment and contract. We explain the applicable terms and handover requirements; no fixed lifespan, uninterrupted performance or future warranty outcome is guaranteed.
Coordinated Electrical Integration
We consider the existing supply, distribution equipment, metering, export controls and other loads. Additional infrastructure or remedial work is identified and agreed where required.
What Our Customers Say About Us
EXCELLENT Based on 6 reviews Posted on Google Philip LongTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Alan and the team installed and connected our ground mounted PV system and battery. Having the house run off solar is very satisfying and I would recommend it to anyone, as well as Renew-Able Solutions for the instal. Alan's support post installation has been much appreciated as wellPosted on Google John McConvilleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Alan and the team did a great job advising and installing the best suited battery and ev charger for us. We are now reaping the benefits of cheap, clean energy. He was on hand to help with any issues with configuring our GivEnergy Battery and Zappi charger making them work optimally with my energy provider. Very responsive. I would thoroughly recommend Renew-AblePosted on Google Malachy McCoolTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We were looking for batteries to complement our pv panels since on sunny days we never used all the electricity generated. We are also on off peak for charging our car. Alan was superb. He explained it all clearly, answered all questions knowledgeably and was very comfortable to deal with. The job was done on time, with no fuss and, very importantly, we felt very comfortable having them in the house. Delighted at the battery performance. It not only worked to store solar but we could choose to charge on very low overnight rates to use in daytime. Our electricity bill literally halved from March (pre install) to April (2023). Professional, courteous and very skilled. Subsequently we decided to augment the system with a second battery and again they were flawless in advice, integrating it into the system and commissioning. Now almost two years on from initial installation it is all still working perfectly. What more could you want?Posted on Google Lisa MasonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic! From my initial consultation on EV changer installation to the finished job everything was seamless! The cable is fully hidden and super neat! I am so happy! I cannot recommend Alan & his team enough!!!!Posted on Google Alex ButcherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Alan and his team were fantastic - spent lots of time helping me to understand the different options for my solar and battery setup, and performed a great installation. Frequently Asked Questions
Suitability depends on electricity use, operating hours, roof or land area, structure, shading, access, electrical supply, planning constraints, grid capacity and budget. We review these factors before recommending a system.
A well-matched system may reduce imported electricity, support carbon-reduction goals and improve visibility of energy use. The result depends on generation, self-consumption, tariffs, export arrangements, finance, maintenance and business operations; savings and payback are not guaranteed.
The building owner should check roof warranties, leases, lender requirements and insurance terms before work proceeds. We can provide relevant system and installation information, but acceptance and ongoing coverage are determined by the warranty provider, landlord, lender or insurer.
Service life varies by manufacturer, product, environment, loading, installation quality, maintenance and operating conditions. Panels, inverters, batteries and other components have different warranty periods and replacement expectations. We refer to the selected product documents rather than promising a fixed 25- or 30-year lifespan.
Availability and eligibility change over time and depend on the business, technology, location and scheme rules. We can provide project information for funding discussions, but finance, grants, tax treatment, capital allowances and accounting advice should be confirmed with the relevant provider or professional adviser.
