Solar PV and Battery Storage
For new installations, we can design solar PV and battery storage together so the inverter, battery capacity, export settings and monitoring work as one system. Backup power is included only where compatible equipment and a dedicated EPS or backup design are specified.

Our Battery Storage Survey, Design and Installation Process
Step 1: Energy and Site Assessment
We review electricity use, tariff, existing solar PV, the consumer unit, metering, equipment locations, cable routes and the customer’s priorities. Where useful, our technical survey includes a 3D internal LiDAR scan to record the proposed equipment area and help plan clearances and routes accurately. Backup loads are assessed separately because whole-home and selected-circuit backup require different designs.
Step 2: System Design, Applications and Installation
We specify the battery, inverter or charger, capacity, power, controls and export settings. Where required, we manage G98, G99 or G100 network requirements before installing and commissioning the agreed system.
Step 3: Handover and Aftercare
We configure the monitoring app, explain tariff charging schedules and operating modes, and provide the agreed certification and warranty information. Ongoing support, servicing and product updates are provided according to the selected system and service agreement.

Many existing solar PV systems can be upgraded with a compatible AC-coupled or hybrid battery. Our survey checks the existing inverter, metering, export limits, proposed equipment location, cabling and any Distribution Network Operator requirements before we recommend a design.
The physical installation is often completed in one to two working days, depending on the system and the property. The overall project also includes survey, design, equipment availability and any required Distribution Network Operator process, so we confirm the expected programme for each installation.
A standard battery installation does not automatically provide backup during a power cut. Backup requires compatible equipment and a properly designed Emergency Power Supply or backup arrangement, including consideration of changeover, earthing, selected circuits, output and expected runtime.
A grid-connected battery may require notification or approval under G98, G99 or G100, depending on the system configuration, inverter capacity and export arrangement. Renew-Able Solutions manages the relevant Distribution Network Operator process for the proposed installation.
