Our recommended shortlist

Our charger range includes myenergi zappi, Hypervolt Home 3 Pro, Ohme Home Pro, Andersen and Simpson & Partners. Eligible models offer Intelligent Octopus Go integration. We check the exact hardware, software and vehicle combination against Octopus’s live eligibility checker before confirming your installation.

Explore the individual guides to zappi, Home 3 Pro and Ohme Home Pro, or see the Andersen and Simpson & Partners options below. Standard installation guide prices are listed where available; the two additional brands are quoted after model selection and survey.

This is our installation shortlist, rather than every charger Octopus supports. A normal overnight timer alone does not establish compatibility with Intelligent Octopus Go’s smart control.

myenergi zappi

myenergi zappi EV charger shown in the manufacturer's product photograph
Manufacturer photograph: myenergi. Exact colour and connection type are specified in your quote.

A flexible choice for homes with solar panels, or plans to add them. Zappi offers ECO, ECO+ and FAST modes, app control and the ability to use surplus solar generation. The range includes tethered and untethered models; our standard package is for a single-phase home installation. Solar panels are optional.

Octopus compatibility: charger-based integration needs a stable internet connection and suitable firmware. Myenergi specifies ECO+ mode for this route; a vehicle-based integration uses different settings. We help you avoid conflicting timers and choose the correct setup.

Warranty: three years as standard. Register the product and retain your proof of purchase. An optional extension to five years is available for eligible models under myenergi’s terms; it is not automatically included in our price.

Hypervolt Home 3 Pro

White Hypervolt Home 3 Pro tethered EV charger
Manufacturer photograph: Hypervolt Home 3 Pro. The exact Home 3 variant is confirmed in your quotation.

A tethered charger for drivers who want the cable ready to use. The current Home 3 Pro offers up to 7.4kW single-phase charging, app control, visible LED status information and a choice of finishes. Wi-Fi or Ethernet connectivity supports its smart functions.

Octopus compatibility: Hypervolt identifies Home 3.0 and Home 3 Pro as supported integration routes. Your charger must be online and correctly connected to the tariff. We confirm the model and setup before installation.

Warranty: Hypervolt lists a three-year standard warranty covering manufacturing defects and hardware failures, with an optional five-year extension subject to its purchase conditions. An extended warranty is not assumed in the standard installation price.

Our price sheet describes this option as “Hypervolt 3”. The Home 3 Pro photograph and features above illustrate the current Pro model; your written quote identifies the supplied variant and cable length.

A compact option with a built-in screen and attached Type 2 cable. The UK Home Pro offers up to 7.4kW single-phase charging, a 5m cable as standard and an optional 8m cable. Its multi-network 4G SIM supports the cloud connection, so mobile coverage at the parking position matters.

Octopus compatibility: Ohme supports Intelligent Octopus Go, with charging schedules managed in the Ohme app. We help you connect your account and understand the available savings and charge-target settings. Eligible installations can also use Solar Boost with the required equipment and configuration.

Warranty: three years as standard. Ohme’s UK warranty guide specifies 36 months from installation, including parts and labour for covered faults, subject to its terms.

Andersen EV chargers

Andersen A3 EV charger in Midnight Black

A choice for homeowners who want their charger to complement the property. We install Andersen chargers, including the A3 with its concealed tethered cable and configurable finish. We help you select the model, cable arrangement and finish that suit your parking space.

Octopus compatibility: Andersen lists all Quartz and A3 models, plus single-phase A2 chargers sold since January 2024, for Intelligent Octopus Go integration. We verify the exact unit and current setup requirements before specifying it.

Warranty: eligible current units carry a seven-year manufacturer warranty, subject to activation deadlines and terms. The claims route and labour cover depend on the supply and installation arrangement; Andersen’s direct-installation package differs from its affiliate return-to-base cover. Your quotation confirms the applicable cover.

Installation price: quoted after model and finish selection and a property survey.

Simpson & Partners EV chargers

Metal-bodied chargers with a choice of colours and finishes. We install Simpson & Partners Home Series chargers and help you choose a tethered or socketed model, a suitable power rating and the right connectivity for your property. Home Plus offers solar-charging capability; Home Basic does not include the same solar functionality.

Octopus compatibility: eligible Home Series V2 and V3 hardware supports the integration route; original V1 units do not offer the same native compatibility. We confirm the exact generation, current software and Octopus eligibility before installation.

Solar setup: Simpson & Partners advises that surplus-solar diversion is not used alongside Intelligent Octopus Go smart control. If solar charging is a priority, we help you choose the charger mode and tariff together.

Warranty: the current Home Series warranty distinguishes 10 years for the enclosure and five years for electrical components, subject to the manufacturer’s terms. It is not ten years of cover for every component.

Installation price: quoted after model selection and a property survey.

Standard installation guide prices

myenergi zappi: £1,099
Hypervolt 3: £1,139
Ohme Home Pro: £1,099

These figures reproduce our standard-installation price list: charger supply and labour are included, based on a maximum 10m installation cable run. This cable run is separate from the lead connecting the charger to your car.

Your property-specific written quotation confirms the exact model, charging lead, VAT treatment, agreed work and any extras before booking. Additional cable, groundworks, electrical supply or consumer-unit alterations and specialist integration can change the total. Optional accessories and warranty extensions are quoted separately.

Vehicle to load and vehicle to house with Sigenergy

Want to understand how an EV could power appliances or support your home? We also install Sigenergy 12kW and 25kW DC charging modules. Our dedicated guide explains vehicle-to-load (V2L), vehicle-to-home (V2H), solar integration, backup requirements and the checks needed for your exact car.

Bidirectional capability and Intelligent Octopus Go eligibility are separate checks. A Sigenergy DC charger is not automatically a supported smart-tariff integration.

Getting the charger and tariff working together

We assess parking, the electrical supply, cable route, earthing, load management and connectivity. We also check any solar panels or home battery, then specify, install, test and commission the agreed equipment and explain the app settings.

Intelligent Octopus Go requires an eligible setup and a working smart meter supplying half-hourly readings. Octopus confirms tariff eligibility and activation. Compatible hardware alone does not activate the tariff or guarantee an unchanged integration for the life of the charger.

For rates, the overnight window, the six-hour smart-charging allowance and our recommendation, read Intelligent Octopus Go explained. For the installation process and our coverage, visit EV charger installation in Edinburgh and East Lothian.
