There’s nothing quite like a recommendation from next door. This installation came to us through an existing customer whose neighbour was ready to expand his own solar setup.
We’d already installed solar PV, battery storage and a myenergi zappi EV charger for the neighbour, as well as servicing their heat pump. That introduction led to another project: seven new AIKO Gen 3 all-black solar panels, a 5kW Sigenergy hybrid inverter and one 8.76kWh battery.
Seven new AIKO panels, with the existing array retained
The property already had solar panels. Our job was to add to the system while bringing the existing panels into the new setup.
Our team installed seven AIKO Gen 3 all-black panels and rerouted the existing solar panels into the new 5kW Sigenergy hybrid inverter. This kept the original array in use alongside the new addition.
It’s a good example of how an existing solar installation can be developed. An upgrade can build on equipment already at the property, with the design planned around both the old and new panels.
A new Sigenergy inverter and battery
The installation brings together:
- Seven new AIKO Gen 3 all-black solar panels.
- The customer’s existing solar panels, rerouted into the new inverter.
- A 5kW Sigenergy hybrid inverter.
- One 8.76kWh battery.
The new panels add generation capacity, while the battery provides storage. When solar generation exceeds the home’s immediate needs, a battery allows that surplus to be kept for use later.
That gives the homeowner more flexibility over when solar electricity is used, including after the panels have stopped generating for the day.
From one neighbour to another
We always appreciate it when a customer passes our name on. In this case, the introduction followed several visits to the neighbouring property for solar, batteries, EV charging and heat pump servicing.
Being recommended for another installation means a great deal to our team. It’s how many of our projects begin: someone sees the work we’ve done for a friend, relative or neighbour and gets in touch about their own home.
Thinking about expanding your solar system?
If you already have solar panels, we can assess the options for adding more panels, introducing battery storage or upgrading your inverter.
We’ll look at the existing equipment and your household’s needs before recommending a design. You can read more about our Sigenergy inverter and battery systems, or explore the solar and battery brands we install.
