A carefully installed EV charger should be convenient to use and look right at home. Our recent installation in Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, G72 7AD, brought both together: a smart SALUS EV7UK charger, a tidy finish and a five-star review from the customer.
The Renew-Able Solutions team fitted the charger on an external wall beside the property’s driveway, putting home charging within easy reach of the parking space. Its silver, black and blue design sits neatly against the exterior, with a compact appearance that complements the property.
SALUS EV7UK: single-phase home charging
The SALUS EV7UK is a single-phase home charger with a manufacturer-rated output of 7kW. Its key specifications include:
- 230V single-phase supply and 32A charging current.
- Untethered Type 2 socket, allowing a compatible charging cable to be connected when needed.
- 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connectivity for app-based charging control and monitoring.
- NFC card access to restrict use to authorised users.
- LED charging-status indicators for an at-a-glance view of the charger’s status.
- Built-in protection, including PEN fault protection and 6mA DC residual-current detection.
These features combine practical everyday charging with useful control over who can use the unit and when charging takes place. You can read the manufacturer’s SALUS EV7UK technical datasheet for the full specifications.
The SALUS app also supports charging schedules and charging-history monitoring. For households on an electricity tariff with cheaper off-peak periods, scheduling offers a way to make use of those lower rates. Actual charging speed depends on the vehicle’s charging capability and the installation’s configured output. App services are subject to SALUS’s applicable terms.
A straightforward installation and a finish to be proud of
Our engineer reported that the charger was straightforward to install and took particular pride in achieving a neat result. That care shows in the finished photographs: the unit is positioned cleanly on the wall, with no visible surface cabling around it to distract from the installation.

For us, the finish matters. A charger becomes part of someone’s home, so its positioning and appearance deserve care alongside the electrical work. This installation gave our engineer a result to be proud of—and we were delighted to receive a five-star review from the customer.
